Aerospace and defence company, Chemring Countermeasures, is seeking a Manufacturing Trainer to act as a Learning & Development ambassador. The role involves delivering engaging training to production staff at all levels, supporting the creation of clear work instructions, and maintaining high-quality training records to ensure a competent and flexible workforce.
Overview of the role:
- Assessing and developing employee competence.
- Contributing to inductions and promoting health and safety awareness.
- Coaching staff and supporting the L&D strategy.
- Assisting with identifying training needs and promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver operational training to CCM and/or externally accredited standards.
- Ensure each production Operator is competent through assessment in their understanding and performance of the Work Instructions and Risk Assessments.
- Assist with the technical knowledge transfer of new processes and products.
- Coach MCL’s in delivering an onboarding & buddy service to new starters.
- Update and maintain individual and departmental training records using the Learning Management System.
- Routinely deliver refresher training on critical process and compliance topics.
- Contribute to and deliver toolbox talks as required.
- Support with or complete mask face fit testing as required.
- Report immediately to appropriate management any unsafe situations.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience:
- Level 3 Trainer Qualification (or prepared to work toward).
- Assessor Qualification (or prepared to work toward).
- IT Skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Learning Management Systems).
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience:
- Familiarity with explosives manufacture.
- Experience of auditing.

- Week 1: Late 14:30-23:15 (Mon-Fri), Late 14:30-19:00 (Sat), OFF (Sun).
- Week 2: OFF (Mon), Late 14:30-23:15 (Tue-Fri), OFF (Sat-Sun).
- Week 3: Late 14:30-23:15 (Mon-Fri), Late 14:30-19:00 (Sat), OFF (Sun).
- Week 4: Late 14:30-23:15 (Mon-Fri), Late 14:30-19:00 (Sat), OFF (Sun).
- Week 5: Late 14:30-23:15 (Mon-Fri), Late 14:30-19:00 (Sat), OFF (Sun).
- Week 6: Late 14:30-23:15 (Mon-Fri), Late 14:30-19:00 (Sat), OFF (Sun).
- Week 7: 10:00-18:45 (Mon-Thu), 10:00-14:30 (Fri), OFF (Sat-Sun).

One scheduled Saturday cover shift during the 8-week rotation. Sundays are non-working days.
