At Chemist4U, we’re looking for an experienced Content Editor to help us take our editorial to the next level. If you’re an experienced content professional with deep SEO knowledge, a sharp editorial eye, and a background in health or regulated sectors, this role offers the chance to lead meaningful, compliant, and high-performing content across our fast-growing sites.
You’ll be joining a close-knit, multi-skilled content and PR team, reporting to the Senior Content Editor to ensure our content is accurate, trusted, and discoverable. You’ll also play a key role in coaching junior writers and shaping the editorial standards that underpin our success.
This is a role for someone who’s just as happy writing a GLP-1 explainer from scratch as they are editing junior content or unpicking keyword data. If you love words, structure, SEO, and making complex things feel simple, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and Refine Across Formats: Review and improve content written by others (junior writers, freelance support, or agencies) ensuring accuracy, clarity, structure, and SEO optimisation.
- Edit for medical compliance in line with MHRA and ASA guidance, working with our clinical team when needed.
- Ensure our editorial content meets the dual needs of search performance and user experience.
- Work closely with the Senior Editors to deliver search-informed content plans across key product and condition areas.
- Conduct detailed gap analyses, competitor research and content mapping using tools like Semrush, GA4 and Search Console.
- Build and optimise pillar pages, FAQ content and new editorial structures in line with SEO best practice.
- Write a variety of content types yourself — from in-depth health features and buyer’s guides to product descriptions and condition explainers.
- Structure, source and produce content that simplifies complex medical concepts while staying compliant and accessible.
- Ensure all content aligns with our brand tone and editorial standards — informative, human, and medically safe.
Support and Mentor Writers
- Guide writers with briefs, feedback, and coaching to support their growth and improve output quality.
- Uphold our editorial playbook and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Be a go-to point for content quality control across the wider team.
Enable Great Campaigns
- Support the Digital PR and content marketing team with research, campaign copywriting, and data-led storytelling.
- Contribute to thought leadership and creative content ideas that push our brand forward.
About You
You’ll have solid experience in SEO-led content writing and editing, ideally gained within healthcare, pharma, or another regulated industry. You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong portfolio of high-quality content that shows range, clarity, and technical accuracy, alongside excellent editorial judgement and a confident grasp of grammar, structure, and tone of voice. You’ll be comfortable working from content briefs, keyword data, and structured templates, and able to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful Content Editor will have experience supporting or mentoring junior writers. You will need to be familiar with SEO tools such as Semrush, GA4, GSC, and CMS platforms like WordPress. Above all, you’ll have a genuine interest in healthcare and a passion for making medical information clear, accessible, and engaging for a wide audience.
Company benefits
Working with an NHS-focused organisation means doing work that truly matters, every day, you’ll help make a real, positive impact on the lives of patients across the UK and Ireland. And that’s just the start. We also offer:
- Free onsite gym membership
- Funded training
