About the Role

Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for managing and providing technical leadership to the teams that build, operate, and contribute to the design of enterprise‑wide Infrastructure and backup and recovery platforms. The role provides technical and strategic direction and is accountable for developing robust processes that support the ongoing optimisation of our network services.

Role Responsibilities

  • Accountable for planning, designing, and implementing Infrastructure technologies and backup and recovery solutions.
  • Proactively monitor and operate virtualisation platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Develop, document, and maintain technical resources and best practices for technology delivery and operations.
  • Perform workload management, project planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimise efficiency.
  • Align technical activities with the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to our technology roadmaps.
  • Implement and maintain automation and orchestration tools to improve Infrastructure efficiency.
  • Enhance DevOps and automation practices to streamline deployments and configuration management.
  • Define and enhance processes and ways of working.
  • Influence and integrate with broader organisational changes.

People Management

  • Manage the team to meet the operational and strategic needs of the business.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the department.
  • Manage recruitment activities in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Hold regular meetings with individual team members to discuss performance, goals/aspirations and development opportunities.
  • Develop and set annual KPI’s, ensuring these are entered into OneSigma or ConnectMe prior to the set due date.

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in an Infrastructure Engineering or Technical position.
  • 5+ years expertise in leading or mentoring Infrastructure or backup and recovery engineering teams.
  • Well‑developed and thorough knowledge of virtualisation and storage technologies, including VMWare, Hyper‑V, and enterprise SANs.
  • Extensive knowledge of Backup and Recovery platforms, including Commvault.
  • Strong time management with an ability to work in a fast moving environment.
