The Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Part-Time Payroll Clerk to join our team in Glasgow. Working up to 20 hours per week, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and ensuring all payroll information is kept up to date.. You will work closely with the wider finance and HR teams, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and ensuring payroll deadlines are consistently met. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous payroll experience who is looking for a flexible, part-time position within a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Process weekly/monthly payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines.

· Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure all information is up to date.

· Process starters, leavers, changes to pay, overtime, deductions, holidays and other payroll adjustments.

· Calculate and process statutory payments and deductions, including PAYE and National Insurance.

· Respond to payroll queries from employees and provide a professional and helpful service.

· Reconcile payroll information and investigate any discrepancies.

· Prepare payroll reports and provide administrative support to the finance/HR team.

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.

· Keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation and company procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· Previous experience in a payroll or payroll administration role.

· Good knowledge of payroll processes and UK PAYE requirements.

· Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

· Strong organisational and time-management skills.

· Good numerical and IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel.

· The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· A professional and confidential approach when handling sensitive information.

A recognised payroll qualification, such as a CIPP or IAB payroll qualification, would be desirable, together with demonstrable experience of processing UK payroll from start to finish.
