We are looking for an experienced Specification Manager to drive growth through consultant engagement, specification influence and strong pipeline development across the commercial UK HVAC market.
Key responsibilities:
- This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a specification-led territory role, building relationships, identifying projects early, and turning opportunities into specification success across the commercial UK HVAC market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with consultants, specifiers, contractors, key decision-makers and channel partners across the territory.
- Identify, qualify and develop project opportunities, building a robust pipeline of specification-led business.
- Influence specifications by providing relevant technical guidance, application knowledge and supporting materials.
- Take ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through to specification development and project progression.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in SFDC, ensuring meeting activity, pipeline status, notes and next actions are always clear and up to date.
- Build a strong understanding of each live project, including scope, application, stakeholders, timeline and commercial potential.
- Thrive in an autonomous role, using initiative and commercial judgement to create momentum and deliver growth within the territory.
YOU WILL have:
- Proven experience in specification sales within the commercial UK HVAC market.
- A strong track record of building relationships with specifying consultants, contractors, distributors and other key commercial stakeholders.
- Existing industry relationships, together with the ability to open new doors and develop new project opportunities.
- Experience managing a live CRM or sales funnel, with a disciplined approach to pipeline visibility, follow-up and opportunity progression.
- Commercial and technical capability to support RFQ activity, including interpreting project requirements, preparing BOMs and cost models, and helping shape the most appropriate solution.
- The ability to coordinate technical and commercial inputs to produce accurate, timely and well-aligned proposals and submittals.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams, external partners and the distributor network.
- The ability to assess project potential, understand customer requirements and convert market activity into qualified opportunities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver presentations, proposals and technical discussions in a professional and compelling way.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with the organisation and commercial judgement to manage opportunities through to a successful outcome.
This is a field-based role with regular travel across the territory and occasional overnight stays as required. A full UK driving licence is essential. Experience using Salesforce.com, or an equivalent CRM platform, to maintain accurate records, manage pipeline activity and support effective opportunity follow-up.
