Locum Consultant post in Respiratory Medicine and GIM (12 months fixed-term contract) The appointment is for a full-time Locum Consultant Physician within Thoracic Medicine. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague to work with the team, sharing the inpatient ward and respiratory outpatient workload, with plenty of scope to develop their own sub speciality interest. If a person is appointed as a part-time or job share position modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the trust in consultation with consultant colleagues. Please refer to the chart below for an indicative job plan denoting the allocation of programmed activities – please note that this is suggested only, and is subject to confirmation with the post-holder. There is scope for tailoring the job plan to the sub speciality interests of the successful applicant. We would welcome candidates to reach out to the department to discuss the role if considering applying. The post involves a mixture of inpatient ward cover and out patient work; including lung cancer clinic and MDT, a pleural list and general respiratory clinic. EBUS may or may not be included, dependent upon the applicant. Successful candidates should have obtained CCT in Respiratory and General (Internal) medicine or be within 6 months at the time of appointment. The respiratory departments at Chelsea & Westminster hospital trust provide comprehensive in-and out-patient respiratory services including state of the art interventional bronchoscopy, non-invasive ventilation, sleep diagnostics & therapeutics, lung cancer, airway and TB services. There are significant teaching & training opportunities for both consultants and more junior trainees and both departments are research-active. Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East. Both hospitals provide full clinical services, including full maternity, emergency and children’s, in addition to a range of community-based services across London, such as award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.
