We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of medication administration and patient care practices.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide medication information to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support patient care activities, including answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory, expiry dates, and storage conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations related to pharmacy operations.
- Process insurance claims and handle administrative tasks related to prescriptions.
- Support the organisation of pharmacy stock levels and restocking as needed.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the pharmacy environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician or similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care protocols.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification or registration as a Pharmacy Technician is desirable but not mandatory for all jurisdictions.
- A compassionate approach to patient care and confidentiality is essential.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the pharmacy setting.
