For a September 2026 start, Cheltenham College’s Sports Department is looking to appoint a Resident Sports Professional (Rackets). No experience in the sport is needed, but you will have a willingness to learn, understand how to get the best out of pupils, and have a proven record within your present sport.

As this is a resident position with a pastoral requirement, there is an expectation that the postholder would be a Resident Tutor in one of College’s boarding houses and would be expected to undertake evening duties and responsibilities to assist with the smooth running and pastoral care of the pupils.

Sports professionals have a fantastic time living and working in a supportive and rewarding environment, gaining great experience, working really hard in a seven day a week boarding school – and having great fun. Under the line management of the Director of Sport, Sports Professionals will also assist in the management of key areas of sport’s busy programme and will gain valuable experience in administration, marketing and communications.

Term time only: 33 weeks per annum – 0.71 FTE (Full Time Equivalent)

Salary: (Based on experience and coaching qualifications) From £19,028.00 per annum to £20,636.00 per annum (As this is a term-time only role, the salary has been pro-rated and is based on a full time/ full year equivalent starting salary of between £26,754.00 and £29,016 per annum).

3-point Responsibility Allowance to be paid for being a resident tutor (£1,860 per annum). Accommodation provided all year round and all meals can be taken at College during term time.
