Senior Building Control Surveyor β The Role: This is a dynamic and rewarding role at the heart of building safety and compliance. As a Senior Building Control Surveyor and registered Class 2D Inspector, youll manage a varied caseload, assessing plans, carrying out site inspections, and providing expert advice to ensure projects meet regulatory standards. Youll use your professional judgement to identify risks, drive compliance, and support safe, high-quality development across the borough. Working within the Building Safety Regulator framework, youll also have the opportunity to develop towards Class 3, while collaborating with a supportive and experienced team. Senior Building Control Surveyor KeyResponsibilities: β Identifying, determine and taking action to secure compliance β Providing competent advice to building control bodies and duty holders β Acting within and maintain own competence, supporting others to do same β Identifying and report conflicts of interest for appropriate action to be taken β Undertaking all work in compliance with the Code of Conduct β Assessing plans and carrying out inspections to assess whether building work is undertaken in compliance with the Building Regulations Senior Building Control Surveyor You: β Registered Class 2D Building Inspector (minimum) with a relevant Level 46 qualification or equivalent β Good knowledge of Building Regulations, the Building Act, Building Safety Act, and related standards including fire and health & safety β Experience in plan assessments, site inspections, compliance checks, risk assessment, and enforcement action β Able to work within competence frameworks, maintain professional standards, and operate within registration limits β Strong analytical, decision-making, IT, and report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively β Proactive, customer-focused, able to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and support junior staff Senior Building Control Surveyor Benefits: β An excellent pension scheme.
