The Role:
This is a dynamic and rewarding role at the heart of building safety and compliance. As a Senior Building Control Surveyor and registered Class 2D Inspector, you will manage a varied caseload, assessing plans, carrying out site inspections, and providing expert advice to ensure projects meet regulatory standards. You will use your professional judgement to identify risks, drive compliance, and support safe, high-quality development across the borough. Working within the Building Safety Regulator framework, you will also have the opportunity to develop towards Class 3, while collaborating with a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing competent advice to building control bodies and duty holders
- Assessing plans and carrying out inspections to assess whether building work is undertaken in compliance with the Building Regulations
You:
- Registered Class 2D Building Inspector (minimum) with a relevant Level 46 qualification or equivalent
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations, the Building Act, Building Safety Act, and related standards including fire and health & safety
- Experience in plan assessments, site inspections, compliance checks, risk assessment, and enforcement action
- Strong analytical, decision-making, IT, and report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively
