The Role

As a Senior Multi Skilled Operative, you will undertake a breadth of multi-trade repairs and maintenance work, consistently demonstrating quality across various trades. You will work with the Repairs Supervisors and Logistics Co-ordinator to deliver an effective and efficient service. When required, you will provide supervision and training to junior trades, trainees and apprentices. You will be responsible for planning your daily duties to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, whilst maintaining safe working practices throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day multi-trade repairs, maintenance and replacements including groundworks, waste clearance, bricklaying, roofing repairs, general building works and gain entry.
  • Demonstrate competency in carpentry including internal and external work, window and door repairs, lock changes and kitchen replacements.
  • Demonstrate competency in plumbing work excluding gas systems, including hot water cylinder replacement and bathroom installation.
  • Provide supervision and training to junior trades, trainees and apprentices when required.
  • Manage vehicles, plant and materials under direction of supervisors.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean, tidy and report any issues promptly.
  • Work safely from ladders and in confined spaces such as loft areas.
  • Remove and reconnect household appliances as required.
  • Ensure health and safety of workforce, contractors, tenants, leaseholders and the public.

You

  • Demonstrable experience carrying out multi-trade work.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Asbestos Regulations.
  • Competent driving van-sized vehicles in town environments.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with colleagues, tenants and the public.
  • Providing supervision for junior trades, trainees or apprentices.
  • Ability to use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) accurately for job details and materials ordering.
  • Mature ability to undertake diverse tasks and solve problems logically.
  • Manual handling experience and awareness of safe vehicle loading and roadworthiness.
