Chelsea Handball Club is spreading the benefits of the handball sport to diverse local groups in an inclusive manner. We need help with managing our senior (men/women) teams operations. Our Vision is to become the community club of choice in London, where everyone gets active via the Sport of Handball. We want to carry on activities which benefit the community and encourage, foster and develop Handball in all its forms amongst all ages and sections of our community.
In the last years, we have experienced consistent growth, a trend that continues up to now, as there is a strong demand for handball in London. We are the biggest handball club in England, in terms of participation. We are exclusively managed by internal volunteers, although due to our current growth and potential, sustaining effectiveness in our operations requires a dedicated and experienced individual, who shall coordinate our volunteers at task level, as well as contribute strategically to our club's operational development.
What you will be doing:
- Administration and management of our teams operations
- Implementation of club policies and procedures at team level
- Implementation of club decisions / objectives / targets at team level
- Ensuring all welfare and safety requirements for the team are met
- Ensuring that team is resourced appropriately so that activities are delivered safely and effectively
- Monitoring of coaches' performance and ensuring that their responsibilities are effectively delivered
- Ensure player profile information is complete and up to date
- Ensure players are registered with the club and pay their fees in time
- Implementation of the National Governing Body's competition rules and regulations
- Communication of team event information on our electronic platforms
- Communication of team achievements / outputs on our club's website and social media
- Organisation of travel and accommodation for our teams' away games, when deemed necessary
- Stocking of first aid equipment
- Mediation on any problems that may arise amongst players, coaches, officials, and supporters
- Engagement of volunteers for delegating tasks in a controlled manner
What are we looking for:
- Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management
- Experience of budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with business and financial principles
- Good communication skills
- Leadership ability
- Good organisational skills
- Working experience as Operations Manager, or similar operational role, is preferable
