JOB TITLE: Senior Coach (Part-Time)

LOCATION: Brompton Academy, Marlborough Rd, Gillingham ME7 5HT

CONTRACT: Part-time 20 hours any 5 of 7 days

The Opportunity

To deliver safe, inclusive, high quality provision across the Post 16 programme & Kent/Essex Provision and various important activity and to lead and support on the development of programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead, deliver and co-ordinate on the Post 16 Programme based at Brompton Academy throughout the year. To fully integrate into School/College life when on site on and off the pitch. To lead and deliver a minimum of 12 hours of activity.
  • To support and oversee the effective planning and execution of the various football sessions running at specific times of the year across the areas. These to include, but not limited to Player Development Programme, Post 16 Programmes and Holiday Provision.
  • To oversee and deliver safe, inclusive and high quality coaching activity across the programmes in Kent and Essex.
  • To innovate and seek new business and networking opportunities to then implement across the area to enhance the delivery programme.
  • To line manage sessional coaches, ensuring they are mentored and developed throughout the year. To work closely with the Post 16 football programmes steering group to support and deliver on all coaching specific aspects of delivery.
  • To attend regular meetings at Brompton Academy and produce end of term reports on progress to share with both parties.
  • To deliver on activity to support relationships with local youth football clubs and local schools to further support the post 16 programme.
  • To network and drive innovative ways in which to develop the area to create additional sporting opportunities to further enhance the wider Post 16 and Kent Development Programme.

What you will bring to the role

  • Minimum of the UEFA ‘C’ Licence, UEFA ‘B’ Licence favourable
  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Coached and/or managed an 11 a side football team for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Worked within a High School or College setting for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Been involved in community/grass roots sports as a coach for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Worked as part of a team within a sporting environment.
