The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

This is a great opportunity to join the Academy team and design and deliver the physical performance programmes, with a specific focus on strength and power for the U18 & U16 players. You will be responsible for designing, delivering and measuring strength and power programmes to enhance the physical capability within these age groups. You will also design and develop pre-training preparation sessions for broader athletic development skills and work closely with the medical department on player rehabilitation to ensure our players "build back better" throughout their rehab journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of off-pitch physical preparation programmes, including gym-based sessions, pre-training prep sessions and rehab sessions.
  • Lead the delivery of physical profiling throughout the season and use this information to develop objectively informed programmes for pitch performance and player health.
  • Support the medical department throughout the rehabilitation process, contributing towards the planning, delivery, monitoring and ongoing decision-making process in all U18 & U16 rehabs, using rehab as a window of opportunity for further athletic development.
  • Work closely with the U18 & U16 on-pitch physical performance coaches to ensure all aspects of physical development across the week are effectively periodised and aligned based on the academy's training models.
  • Work alongside the Lead Academy Nutritionist to ensure players' body composition is systematically tracked to inform players’ physical performance goals.
  • When possible, support with the delivery of on-field athletic development sessions and warm-ups and when needed support with GPS download and reporting.

What you will bring to the role

  • BASES Accreditation (Supervised Experience route or direct route)
  • UKSCA Accreditation (Or Equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in the design and implementation of S&C programmes with elite athletes (At least 5 years)
  • Display a keen interest in youth athletic development and have an understanding of the unique requirements of elite youth athletes
  • Experience working with team-based sports (ideally football) and be able to display a strong understanding of the physical and skill demands of the sport.
  • A highly skilled coach who displays creativity, adaptability and the self-awareness to utilise a variety of different coaching styles.
