LOCATION: Stamford Bridge, Kingsmeadow and Cobham Training Ground

JOB FUNCTION: The Senior Security Manager is responsible for planning and delivering protective security operations at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Kingsmeadow and Cobham Training Ground. Reporting into the Head of Security, you will be responsible for implementing, managing and enhancing access control, asset protection and security awareness standards, ensuring that the Club is suitably protecting its people, property, information capability and reputation at all times. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the security contractor service provision, managing KPOs and KPIs, setting and checking standards and driving improvements. You will ensure compliance and best practice underpin the service delivery.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Line manage the Cobham Security Manager, ensuring standards and principles are consistent across both sites.
  • Manage and lead the security team at Stamford Bridge ensuring protective security operations are working effectively and to the highest standard.
  • Work effectively with the security provider's Account Manager to ensure standards and behaviours are consistent across the contract.
  • Collect and analyse management information and use this to identify trends, areas for improvement and examples of good practice.
  • Develop a security incident database and create monthly reports for the Head of Security.
  • Implement a program of improvement, utilising training sessions, workshops and tabletops to develop the teams and enhance individual performance.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders across the Club, showcasing the department's capacity and willingness to solve problems and help other departments to better manage security risks in their operation.
  • Work with department colleagues to conduct effective and timely investigations into confidential incidents.
  • Act as the operational security lead on matchdays at Stamford Bridge, sharing responsibility across the season with the Head of Security and Deputy Head of Security.
  • Lead on the security awareness program across the Club, delivering inductions, ensuring security procedures and advice is available on the intranet, and developing training for other departments.
  • Create assignment instructions, standard operating procedures, incident management plans, event security plans and training plans. Ensure the teams can access the information, and that there is a framework for familiarisation and understanding.
  • Conduct site surveys and audits, identifying areas of vulnerability and developing effective mitigation plans.
  • Review operations and manning at all levels - baseline levels, events and matchdays - with the intent to maximise the team's efforts and ensure officers are working effectively.
  • Develop an event risk assessment and planning process, working with the Meetings & Events team (and their clients) to ensure all commercial events are delivered to a high standard.
  • Develop and manage the systems and associated policies for: Parking, CCTV, Accreditation, Visitor management, Contractor management.
  • Work with the Deputy Head of Security to develop the club's compliance with Protect Duty legislation.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Constructing and managing budgets and ensuring a continuous value for money approach.
  • Overseeing the delivery of costed event plans.
  • Compliance with statutory requirements including Data Protection, Health and Safety and Licensing requirements.
  • Compiling strategic security plans and policies.
  • Compliance with site security plans.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Hold SIA Door Supervisor licence.
  • Holds recognised security standard qualification.
  • Desirable – holds IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Proven practical experience and skills in providing a high-quality security service within a dynamic, confidential and high-profile environment.
  • Experience in the investigation of complaints and customer related issues.
  • High administrative competence.
  • The ability to work flexibly and to adapt to operational requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong internal and external working relationships and partnerships.
  • Experience in security systems especially CCTV and access control.
  • Working with 3rd party providers and managing contracts.
  • Extensive understanding of the current security threats including those from terrorism and the ability to implement and adapt proportionate security plans to meet these.
