Overview
JOB TITLE: Women’s Academy – ETC Player Development Lead
DEPARTMENT: Women’s Academy
LOCATION: Cobham – Chelsea FC Training Ground, plus travel to ETC games programmes
CONTRACT: Part Time, 10 hours per week, or, as and when required according to ETC half term schedule.
JOB FUNCTION: The Player Development Lead will oversee the design, delivery, and continual improvement of Chelsea FC Women’s ETC programme, ensuring a safe, supportive, and high-performance environment. This role is responsible for implementing a player-centred coaching curriculum, supporting coaches, and managing individual development plans in line with FA ETC standards.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities)
- To attain the highest levels of performance possible in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
- Enhance and review our ETC coaching curriculum.
- Ensure the ETC’s coaching programme adheres to or exceeds FA ETC licence requirements.
- Plan, prepare and evaluate own coaching sessions.
- Leading on player selection and progression decisions.
- Ensure the focus of every session is always on the individual progression of the player.
- To support the delivery of the training programme once a week, and to support the Physical performance syllabus outlined by the Womens Academy Physical Performance lead.
- Be available for all player & parent review meetings.
- To act professionally when representing Chelsea FC and to be a positive role model to all players, parents and work colleagues.
- Oversee ETC coaches in their planning, preparation, and evaluation of their coaching sessions.
- In line with our safeguarding policies, the coach needs to ensure that all relevant documentation is kept up to date and is accessible on request.
- To be committed to ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of elite Emerging Talent Centre players, maintaining professional boundaries and promoting their well-being needs.
- To comply with the Chelsea FC and ETC ‘Code of Conduct’ regulations.

- Degree in related field – BSc in Sports Science / BA in Physical Education (Essential)
- UKSCA Trainer Award (Essential)
- UEFA B Licence (Essential)

Experience:
- Experience working in the Women’s game
- A background in Talent Development
- Experience of creating and managing programmes to facilitate young players\’ long term athletic development
- Experience within Youth / development football
- Experience of leading a team of people
- Experience in planning and delivering sessions
