  • Verify that each contract has a designated owner accountable for supplier performance and value delivery.
  • Identify gaps where contractual commitments are not being met and ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, and followed through.
  • Eliminate contract leakage and off-contract spend through robust governance and targeted interventions.

Audit & Assurance

  • Conduct thorough audits of commercial and operational contracts, prioritising high-impact agreements and areas of elevated risk.
  • Prepare comprehensive, accurate, and well-structured documentation of all audit activity, ensuring findings are evidence-based and traceable.
  • Verify commercial agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and relevant governing body requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen the contractual framework, reduce risk exposure, and enhance operational effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Partner with budget holders and senior leaders to embed ownership and accountability for supplier relationships and contract performance.
  • Confidently challenge non-compliance or off-contract spend, using robust analysis and evidence to drive corrective action.
  • Build strong partnerships with Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and reinforce adherence to agreed ways of working.

Policy, Process & Strategy Development

  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of procurement policy and contract governance frameworks.
  • Simplify and standardise contracting processes to make them efficient, scalable, and widely adopted across the Club.
  • Support the business through the transition to a new procurement operating model, ensuring competitive sourcing and effective supplier management become embedded practices.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Lead analysis for contract compliance data, producing clear and actionable reporting on value protection, compliance performance, and cost efficiencies.
  • Use insights from data to highlight opportunities for savings, process optimisation, and supplier performance improvement.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Procurement Director and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring commercial decisions are based on accurate, timely information.

Strategic Alignment With The Business

  • Align contract compliance with the wider procurement strategy and organisational goals.
  • Execute procurement audits, contributing to evaluations of commercial and legal obligations, supplier performance, and opportunities for rationalisation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on contract governance, supplier management, and commercial risk mitigation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Ideal Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an audit, consultancy or transformation business followed by post qualification experience in a PE-backed or agile listed company.
