Management Accountant - Football

b Overview /b p In this role you will support the Finance Team by delivering accurate management accounting for football operations, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end processes. You will manage football-specific P L and player costs, ensuring timely, compliant reporting and insightful commentary. You will work closely with football stakeholders to improve processes and data quality, and support audits and cash flow planning. This is an impactful role at a prominent football club with a strong focus on governance, data integrity and performance insights. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Prepare accurate financial information for designated football finance areas /li li Maintain departmental P L accounts for men’s football operations and player costs /li li Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies /li li Produce monthly forecasts with variance analysis focused on football operations and player costs /li li Monitor player transfer payments/receipts and ensure contractual due dates and regulatory compliance /li li Maintain football and player data in Microsoft Dynamics /li li Improve reporting, controls and management accounting processes /li li Support forecasting of football-related cash flow and assist in audit preparation /li li Undertake ad hoc projects and tasks as required /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA /li li Strong Microsoft Excel skills /li li Experience with or openness to using AI/Copilot tools for analysis /li li Desirable: experience with Microsoft Dynamics /li li Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities /li li Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with finance and football stakeholders /li li Understanding of football operations, player costs, transfer payments/receipts, and related regulations /li li Ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions in a controlled manner /li li Self-motivated, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment /li li Team player with practical, hands-on approach and discretion /li /ul ul li attention to detail /li li clear communication /li li proactivity /li li Microsoft Excel /li li Microsoft Dynamics /li li data analysis /li /ul
