What We’re Looking For:

Managing the audio-visual systems at the club’s three sites (Stamford Bridge, Kingsmeadow, Cobham Training Grounds). The AV Manager will lead a team of three AV technicians to ensure that all audio-visual equipment is properly maintained and operated. This is a 5 out of 7 role, and presence is required for all the club’s matches and events.

Brief description and duties:

  • Manage the team of AV technicians, providing guidance, support and training as needed
  • Oversee the sourcing, maintenance, operation and repair of all audio-visual equipment, including the in-house PA and Safety PA systems, AV control room, advertising boards, advertising totems and screens at all three sites.
  • Source/Maintain/control and operate in-house IPTV System across all sites (including messaging and screen setup)
  • Maintenance and operation (when DJ unavailable) of in-house PA and care of Safety PA systems
  • Coordinate the setup and operation of audio-visual equipment for events, including press conferences, matches and other internal or public events.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of audio-visual equipment, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available for events.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the proper use and maintenance of audio-visual equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of audio-visual systems at the club.
  • Stay up to date with developments in audio-visual technology and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Assist outside broadcast units (matchdays and events)
  • Respond to IT ServiceDesk assigned jobs
  • Pre-Match checks of all systems
  • Match day/Pitch event/Open day attendance to ensure smooth operation of all systems
  • Respond to requests from Customers via telephone & e-mail and via the IT Servicedesk
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Deal with contractors and in-house services to ensure delivery of projects
  • Provide technical expertise to the procurement process including system design and completion of sales / tender documentation.
  • Attend meetings with Clients when required
  • Manage AV Technician (allocate work/training/PDP’s)

Must Haves/qualified by demonstrable experience to the level required:

  • Substantial experience in AV Management or related field
  • Diverse knowledge and understanding of AV solutions from meeting room & collaboration to digital signage
  • Effective leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in audio-visual equipment, including installation, operation and maintenance
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of audio-video related health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Knowledge of UEFA and Premier league AV regulations
  • Flexibility, able to respond to changing requirements
