About The Role
As a General Assistant, you will be at the forefront of our convenience stores, providing excellent customer service. Your responsibilities will include working at the checkouts, replenishing stock, assisting customers, and promoting the benefits of membership. We are an integral part of our local community, and our stores are open to meet the needs of the community.
About You
We do not require specific experience, but customer service experience is a plus. You should be able to demonstrate the following:
- You are over the age of 18 to be eligible for the sale of alcohol and lottery tickets.

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd was established in 1867, following a meeting of workers from a local ironworks, 23 years after the founding of the first Co-operative Society. We began trading in a small shop on Tindal Street, Chelmsford, and later merged with the Braintree and West Essex Co-operative in the late 1960s.
The Society provides goods and services throughout Mid Essex to both members and customers. Our family of businesses includes food, travel, funerals, and department stores.
