Chelmsford College is expanding its central Personal Tutor Team and we're looking for committed, proactive individuals to join us. As a Personal Tutor, you will be a key figure in our learners' experience - building relationships, removing barriers, and helping students feel supported, safe and ready to learn. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team at a college that puts pastoral care and personal development at the heart of its mission. This role is 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per annum.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily attendance monitoring and follow-up within a dedicated protected window
- Provide immediate, personalised communication with learners and families
- Carry out welfare checks, early interventions and link up with teams for barrier-removal support
- Deliver high-quality Life Skills and Personal Tutorial sessions
- Maintain accurate pastoral records, ensuring consistency across the department
- Work within a supportive buddy system to ensure full pastoral coverage
