At Cheil we craft bold ideas that cut through the noise, capture attention, and spark genuine interaction between people and brands. Partnering with the world’s most ambitious brands, we seamlessly fuse strategy, creativity, technology, and media to create campaigns that don’t just perform — they resonate, inspire, and deliver real impact.
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Motion Graphics Designer/Editor at the heart of our Creative Team, producing work that lands everywhere from the Piccadilly Circus screen to Instagram feeds, for global clients including Samsung, Hugo Boss, Adidas and more. You'll juggle live campaigns and new business pitches across social, brand films, case studies, TV commercials, DOOH and pitch content.
The role sits at the intersection of strong After Effects craft, Premiere Pro editing for short-form, and AI-led production, with real scope to shape how the team uses AI day to day. You'll use generative AI for concept development, image and video creation, visual prototyping and production problem-solving. Sound is part of the job at a working level. You'll use ElevenLabs for AI VO and handle basic sound design, like balancing VO and music or chopping tracks so they feel natural. Full mixing isn't expected, but the edit should sound as considered as it looks.
You'll work directly with a small, genuinely lovely and brilliant creative team. Talented, collaborative, the kind of people you actually want to be in the office with. It's fast-moving, with multiple briefs at once and tight deadlines. You'll be the one bringing fresh ideas and pushing the work above and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Animate content for socials, DOOH, TV commercials, brand films, case studies, launch films and pitches
- Create animated supers, titles, lower thirds and motion graphic overlays in After Effects
- Edit short-form in Premiere Pro, from rushes through to final master, including VO-driven edits, like breaking scripts, finding super moments and shaping on-screen pacing
- Add cinematic finish where it’s needed, like particles, glow, atmosphere, clean loops and camera moves
- Adapt deliverables across formats for campaigns, decks and presentations
- Write AI prompts that give clear creative direction, like camera moves, lighting, composition and brand details
- Critically assess AI outputs and fix what doesn't work, like lighting, perspective, shadows, continuity and "AI slop"
- Build repeatable AI and motion workflows the team can use
- Mock up and visualise winning campaigns for new business pitches
Required Skills
- 4+ years' experience as a senior motion designer, ideally agency-side
- Strong proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro, confident editing short-form end-to-end
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
- Hands-on experience using generative AI in a real production pipeline, please be ready to show or discuss specific examples
- Working fluency with at least one of: Runway, Higgsfield, ComfyUI, Flora, Weavy AI, Magnific (previously Freepik)
- Strong prompt engineering, including multi-image conditioning and reference-led generation
- Comfortable with ElevenLabs and basic sound work
- A critical eye and the technical craft to fix what isn't working
- Pitch experience and the ability to turn around concepts fast
- A self-starter who's calm under pressure
- A showreel or portfolio that shows range of work
Nice to Have
- Cinema 4D, Blender or other 3D software (a real bonus)
- Trapcode or similar for advanced effects
- Node-based AI workflows
- Topaz or similar enhancement and upscaling tools
- Compositing fundamentals
- More advanced sound design or audio mixing
- Awareness of commercial rights, data usage and governance around AI-generated work
The responsibilities contained within this job description are not an exhaustive list. The job holder may be required to perform duties outside their normal day-to-day duties and the company retains the right to such requests.
Benefits
- 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata), increasing to 30 with years of service
- 1 extra day off for moving house
- 5 extra days off for wedding or Civil Partnership
- Discounted Samsung products
- £30 towards gym membership
