We are hiring talented Chefs, all ranges for a Fine Dining Restaurant in Barnstaple, offering guests a high-end dining experience alongside their more relaxed lounge area. We are looking for a Sous Chef with a minimum of 2 years' experience, designing and preparing high-end food. We're looking for a creative individual who is willing to participate in creating seasonal menus and designing new dishes.
The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in both culinary and administrative tasks while communicating with the General Manager. We're looking for professionals who are dedicated to food quality and set high standards for their output. As a Sous Chef, you will be skilled in all areas of the kitchen and have the ability to take charge of the running of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence. You will be creative, innovative, and forward-thinking with both your menus and technique. You will be a strong team leader and thrive on ensuring that every dish is to the highest standards.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong background working in high-end gastro pubs, restaurants, or similar, and should have experience of managing teams as well as dealing with volume whilst maintaining consistently high standards. As Sous Chef, you will be expected to understand and have some experience in producing costings, working with local and seasonal produce, and liaising with suppliers. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail and a passion for quality fresh food, as well as having an excellent knowledge of current food trends and cooking techniques.

- Ability to prioritise & manage workloads, to effectively cope with pressured & high volume service.
- A solid understanding of stock management.
- A passion for sourcing quality fresh produce & management of your supply base.
- Enthusiasm to help the Head Chef empower & develop your team through mentoring & training at all levels.
- An eye for detail & a passion for making dishes look almost as good as they taste.
