Your Role

As Head Chef, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring a seamless service that upholds their high standards. You will lead, inspire, and manage the kitchen team while driving culinary innovation and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead smooth and efficient kitchen services, ensuring consistency and adherence to the company standards.
  • Manage all kitchen staff, including rotas, training, appraisals, and disciplinary matters in collaboration with our Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager.
  • Develop, source, cost, and train team members on new menus and specials.
  • Oversee stock ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships to ensure high-quality ingredients and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain staff morale, efficiency, and a high standard of quality in all kitchen operations.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and HACCP compliance, maintaining a 5-star EHO rating.
  • Work with the F&B Manager to design and deliver memorable food offerings for events.
  • Maintain great customer service through our open kitchen pass.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, preferably in a similar setting.
  • A flair and passion for food with a creative approach to menu development.
  • A culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in costing and managing a kitchen budget.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house teams and management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on experience.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.

  • No late nights - work hours typically between 6:30am-5:00pm or 7:00am-5:30pm, 4 days a week, including a minimum of 1 weekend day.
  • Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday off.

  • Free onsite parking and easy access via bus routes between Hull & Beverley.
  • Manage a dedicated team of 7-10 kitchen staff, with the kitchen running with a minimum of 4 staff per day (more during peak periods).
