Chefs for Chefs are currently on the lookout for a senior Chef De Partie to join a fantastic Hotel group in York City Centre. The property is a stunning 4* Hotel that boasts 143 bedrooms and has undergone a multimillion-pound refurbishment with all brand-new kitchen equipment fitted, including the conference & banqueting kitchen.
This hotel is part of a nationwide company but is classed as an independent hotel, allowing the head chef full control of menus while utilising the best suppliers possible in the area. The dining area can cater up to 200 covers on special occasions, and through breakfast, lunch & dinner service, they average 50 covers, serving all fresh food to a very high standard.
The average working week is 40 hours spread over 5 days, with straight shifts for a salary of £18,000-20,000 per annum, along with plenty of hotel benefits.
Overall, we are looking for a self-motivated, forward-thinking individual to join this already successful brigade to push for greater success alongside a fantastic hotel group.
Candidate Role:- Assume responsibility for your designated section
- Assist the senior chefs with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Adopt and maintain the kitchen’s hygiene and food safety protocols
- Ensure the consistency of the produce is in line with the head chef’s standards
- Assist across all sections of the multi-outlet kitchen - restaurant, weddings, c+b etc.
- Train and develop the junior members of the team
- Work closely with the head chef to benefit your career
- CDP experience is preferred, although a strong demi may be considered
- All fresh food background is a must
- Ideally from a similar hotel background
- Have excellent timekeeping and personal skills
- Be confident and capable of adapting to varied shifts
- Be driven to succeed and develop as part of the company
- Be professional and approachable at all times
- Conference and banqueting experience would be an advantage
