We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join a busy gastro pub team in Ripon on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone who works well under pressure, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and wants to support a friendly kitchen team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Wash, dry, and store crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and prep areas throughout service.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, portioning, and mise en place when required.
- Dispose of rubbish and recycling responsibly and keep storerooms tidy and organised.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Support the wider kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operation.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
- Good communicator with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items safely.
