We are working with a Michelin starred restaurant, which is the first name when it comes to fine dining in West Yorkshire. The restaurant is based in Ilkley and has held a Michelin star for the past number of years. The restaurant is owned and managed by a husband and wife team that have dominated the food scene in West Yorkshire in their careers. The environment is very friendly and flexible with a down to earth management style. The food styling has traditional influence but has adapted to modern techniques, offering their diners a unique experience in the region. We are looking for a Commis chef for the restaurant, to join this very successful brigade in pushing forward and developing the business further.
Role responsibilities:
- Work as part of the team, working towards the maintenance of the Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes.
- Manage and prepare the section stock, ensuring standards are met and consistency is maintained from day to day.
- Work alongside the senior team to develop menus using the best of seasonal produce.
- Manage the section orders, organisation and cleanliness of any given section.
- Develop your skill set in a Michelin star environment.
- Manage your time efficiently, meeting working deadlines given.
Candidate specification:
- Driven and motivated individual.
- Want to work in a Michelin starred environment.
- Commis chef experience required.
- Be able to commute to Ilkley on a daily basis.
- Excellent time management.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to work as part of a team and from your own initiative.
- Be able to absorb information and new skills taught by the chef.
- Ideally Rosette/Michelin experience.
