We are delighted to be recruiting for a commis chef for our clients exciting new venture located near the famous picturesque Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. A former Dyehouse is currently undergoing a major refurbishment being transformed into a casual, vibrant and energetic place to be. The Dyehouse will realise the overall vision of the brand delivering a truly unique and inspired Italian offer carefully partnered with local and Italian sourced produce.
The brand experience will reflect authenticity, honesty, inclusivity all offered with an educational and interactive experience. The Brand will become famous for its handmade pasta, pizza, bread, antipasti, pastries, gelato and a complimentary offer of traditional Italian regional dishes and locally crafted produce. All presented in a truly experiential environment and with excellence in customer service.
The kitchen will be largely open to the public and also involve chefβs demo cooking, serving in the deli and talking to customers about the dishes they have created and the provenance of the food. Guests will be able to experience the brand across a number of concepts: a 60 cover informal eatery, a casual deli/tapas bar which includes a retail counter, a bar (coffee by day, cocktail by night), and a wood-fired pizza counter which will also be used for cooking demos and private dining. Outside extends to a small covered herb garden offering additional dining options and a larger garden area for outside eating and hosting summer events.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a chef to collaborate and shape the formation of a new brand venture partnering with a passionate and committed team who have a clear vision for quality, modern family dining and plans for ongoing further expansion.
Candidate Role:
- Assist in the daily running of the kitchen
- Liaise with the senior team
- Report directly to the head chef
- Ensure the kitchen is working at a high level of compliance and hygiene standards
- Minimise product wastage
- Participate in daily food preparations and service
Candidate Specification:
- Previous commis chef experience is preferred
- Have a professional approach to the position
- A friendly and approachable personality
- Be able to clearly communicate with a large team
- Ideally have experience in multi-venue sites
- Have experience producing fresh, homemade bread and pastry products
- Preferable experience in high-end Italian venues
- Be passionate about fantastic and consistent quality food
