Chefs Bay Hospitality are currently recruiting for an experienced Head Chef on behalf of a prestigious venue in Hull. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and creative culinary professional to take the lead within a dynamic, high-volume environment.
The Opportunity
As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for leading kitchen operations, ensuring excellence in food quality, consistency, and service delivery. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee diverse catering operations including restaurant service, bar menus, private functions, and large-scale events. You will play a key role in shaping menus, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering an exceptional guest experience across all food outlets. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative, high-quality menus across multiple service areas
- Maintain premium food standards across retail and kiosk-style outlets
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations
- Manage GP, stock control, and food cost margins effectively
- Oversee preparation and execution of event catering operations
- Work closely with events and commercial teams to deliver on client expectations
- Manage kitchen administration, ordering procedures, and supplier documentation
- Recruit, train, mentor and motivate the kitchen brigade
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and stock rotation
- Drive operational efficiency while maintaining quality and profitability
Requirements About You
- Demonstrated experience operating at senior chef level within a high-volume, quality-led environment — Essential
- Relevant culinary qualifications with a commitment to continuous professional development — Essential
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, cost control and margin management — Essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure
