Location: Crowborough, East Sussex
Position: Sous Chef (4-Week Holiday Cover)

Dates: 14th September – 11th October
Pay Rate: £20.17 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Hours: Rota based 5 shifts out of 7 (Shifts between 06:30 – 18:30)
About the Role
Chefs Bay is recruiting an experienced Sous Chef on behalf of a private hospital in Crowborough for a four-week holiday cover placement.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for patients and staff while ensuring strict food safety standards across the kitchen.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Proven background as a Sous Chef, ideally within healthcare, private hospitals, or large-scale fresh food catering.
- DBS Check: Must hold an active Enhanced DBS check (or a Basic DBS with a willingness to apply for an Enhanced check at your own cost—guidance provided).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and dietary allergen control.
- Attributes: Reliable, adaptable, and confident stepping straight into a professional kitchen team.
