We are looking for a Full-time Auction Assistant to work alongside a very experienced, driven and friendly team. The role is based at our Auction Saleground in Sutton, Ely, Cambridgeshire (CB6 2QT) and at various auction locations across the UK. We would like someone who is driven, enthusiastic and has a genuine interest in agricultural machinery, enjoys being outside, travelling, and is happy to stay away from home on occasions when an auction is taking place.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up auctions, event management including towing the sales office.
  • Operating the live online bidding platform.
  • Cataloguing and lotting items for auction.
  • Photographing lots for the online catalogue.
  • Dealing with pre‑ and post‑auction enquiries from vendors and purchasers, face‑to‑face and via telephone and email.
  • Performing general administrative duties to support the department.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine interest in agricultural machinery.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to organise workload to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Good IT skills and enthusiasm for embracing ever‑changing and advancing technology.
  • Welcoming attitude and passion for providing a high level of customer care to our clients.
  • Ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships with team members.
  • Committed, driven, and ambitious to succeed.
  • Use of own business‑insured vehicle; potential use of works vehicles depending on availability.
