Overview

The Exec Chef of a group of pubs is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the group at one of its flagship pubs in a beautiful countryside setting near Harrogate. The pub is very busy with a high turnover, offering all day dining, private dining and Sunday lunch of which the menus are semi branded. They require a Sous Chef that can take ownership of the food and maintain the standards that are expected by the locals and visitors that return regularly due to the pubs good reputation in the area. The Sous Chef will need to work closely with the head chef and motivated team of chefs to ensure service times run smoothly and the kitchen paperwork is all up to date. The seasonally changing semi branded fresh food menus consist of favourite pub dishes and as Sous chef you will have a degree of autonomy on the specials.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the food and maintain high standards expected by locals and visitors. Work closely with the head chef and the kitchen team to ensure service times run smoothly. Ensure all kitchen paperwork is up to date. Contribute to seasonally changing semi branded fresh food menus with autonomy on specials.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have recently been working at either Junior Sous or Sous Chef level and have experience of fresh food volume pubs or restaurants. A Chef that is a good leader, a forward thinker, able to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure is essential for this role.
