We are looking for a passionate and experienced Care Home Chef to join our friendly team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering nutritious, well-balanced, and appetising meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking with purpose and making a genuine difference in people's lives.
- Plan and prepare high-quality, nutritious meals in line with residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
- Cater for a range of dietary needs, including allergies, cultural requirements, and specialised diets (e.g. soft/pureed diets).
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards in accordance with regulations (e.g. HACCP).
- Manage stock ordering, rotation, and kitchen budgets effectively.
- Work closely with care staff to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and meet individual resident needs.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards.
Previous experience as a chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable).
- Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people.
- Ability to plan menus and manage kitchen operations independently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
