We're looking for a strong, reliable Head Chef to join our team at an Italian restaurant in Belsize Park. The right person must have at least 5 years' proven experience in Italian cuisine, working with fresh ingredients and freshly prepared dishes only - no pre-cooked or pre-made food. You must be able to run a small kitchen and manage a team of 5 people.
We're looking for someone with strong knowledge of:
- Food costing
- Rota management
- Labour cost control
- Health, safety and hygiene regulations
- Daily ordering and fresh ingredients
- Prep organisation with minimal wastage
- Busy service management
- Standard kitchen procedures
You must be organised, confident and able to build a team, support it, and help each person grow professionally through guidance, motivation and clear standards.
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: dinner service only
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday: lunch and dinner
45 hours per week, 2 days off, 28 days' holiday per year.
