About the Role
Patty & Pickle is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our small kitchen team.
We serve a focused menu of quality burgers, sides, and house‑made products, with an emphasis on consistency, freshness, and great food.
This is a casual role with regular hours available, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced but supportive environment and wants to develop their kitchen skills within a close‑knit team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place
- Prepare and cook menu items to company standards
- Support service during busy periods, maintaining speed and consistency
- Help with stock rotation, storage, and labelling
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Assisting with receiving and checking deliveries
- Follow food safety procedures and HACCP requirements
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Support opening and closing kitchen duties
- Minimise waste and help maintain an organised workspace
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality food
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required (typically Friday and Saturdays with some additional shifts)
