Assistant Chef - Established Restaurant in Fulham (SW6) - El Metro Fulham - London

• Assisting the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily food preparation and cooking.
• Preparing ingredients and dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Supporting the chefs during busy lunch and dinner services.
• Ensuring food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant's standards.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen organisation.
• Monitoring stock levels, storing ingredients correctly and minimising food waste.
• Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
• A good level of spoken and understood English is essential, to communicate effectively with the kitchen team, understand instructions and follow recipes.
• Previous experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen is essential.
• Reliability and punctuality - someone who consistently turns up on time and takes their responsibilities seriously.
• Long-term commitment - we are looking for someone who wants a stable position rather than temporary or short-term work.
• A genuine interest in cooking and a willingness to learn and develop their skills.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm, organised and efficient during busy services.
• Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• A positive attitude, flexibility and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and pride in producing consistently good food.
• The ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative and working independently when required.
