Senior Site Manager Barrow in Furness – BAE Permanent Cheetham Hill Construction is a Bury-based family run business which has been operating for over 55 years. With an ongoing presence at one the UK’s biggest regenerative projects on the BAE site in Barrow, we are looking for a Senior Site Manager, with at least 5 years’ experience of managing and supervising large scale, multi-disciplinary projects in general groundworks and civils work including drainage, highways, reinforced concrete, remediation. Some mechanical and electrical experience is preferred but not essential. Your day to day: As the Senior Site Manager on this project you will effectively plan and organise labour and subsequent plant on site, working as part of a team to maintain and enhance the client relationship. As this is a very high security site, you will uphold high safety standards at all times, setting a professional image and lead by example at all times. Maintaining quality control is paramount, and you will ensure resources are used efficiently on site, You will oversee the control of costs by monitoring them weekly, keeping records and maintain an electronic filing system as to give easy access for auditing purposes. Working knowledge of MS Project is essential, and be IT literate, being able to use Word, Excel, and other electronic documentation. You will be responsible for producing lookahead programmes and making arrangements to ensure all project stakeholder are co-ordinated. Reviewing of sub contractor RAMS prior to issuing to the client and also producing company RAMS for in house work on site. What you will need: We would ideally like you to have obtained security clearance through the National Security Vetting process, enabling you to be allowed to work on a BAE site. As an experienced manager we would like you to have extensive experience in a variety of Civil Engineering disciplines, including groundworks, remediation, highways and structures. You will hold a HNC or HND, along with a Valid CSCS card or SMSTS qualification. Other notable qualifications and attributes to have: First aid at work qualification SMSTS Appointed person (Preferred) Competency in Health and Safety practice A good knowledge of Environmental Management Current valid driving license Rewards/Benefits: For an experienced Site Manager, this is a great opportunity to join an award-winning contractor, working with some high-profile clients.
