Location: Based initially Greater Manchester
Cheetham Hill Construction is a well-established civil engineering and contracting business which has been operating for almost 60 years. We have recently transitioned to an employee-owned trust, and we believe that our people are our most important asset. We are proud to say that we have many employees who have been with the company for over 20 years and all our people are directly employed.
We are looking for a Site Manager, with at least 5 years’ experience of managing/supervising staff in general groundworks and civils work including drainage, highways, reinforced concrete, remediation, and hard landscaping to work initially on our contracts in Greater Manchester, then on projects across the North West.
On a day-to-day basis, we will expect you to:
- Plan and organise labour and plant on site
- Work as part of a team and maintain client relations
- Uphold high safety standards at all times
- Project a professional image and lead by example
- Maintain quality control
- Ensure resources are used efficiently, and the site is a safe and tidy place to work and visit
- Control costs by monitoring them weekly
- Have a working knowledge of MS Project, maintain and update contract programmes
- Keep records and maintain an electronic filing system
- Be IT literate, able to use Word, Excel, and other electronic documentation
- Manage and reduce waste
What you will need:
- Experience in a variety of Civil Engineering disciplines
- HND/HNC or higher
- First aid at work qualification
- Competency in Health and Safety practice
- A good knowledge of Environmental Management
- Current valid driving licence
