Checkstep is at the forefront of building safer digital spaces by providing AI-driven content moderation and Trust & Safety solutions for online platforms. Our platform empowers Trust & Safety teams with flexible workflows, moderation tooling, and cutting-edge machine learning to automate harmful content detection and policy enforcement at scale. We work with forward-thinking platforms across social media, marketplaces, gaming, and beyond to help them meet regulatory requirements and user safety expectations. Our technology is already helping reduce the spread of harmful content, protect vulnerable communities, and support compliance with major international laws, all while allowing our customers to maintain focus on growth and innovation.
As AI reshapes the future of digital content, Checkstep ensures platforms are equipped to handle the challenges of today and tomorrow, from compliance with the EU Digital Services Act to moderating nuanced content such as hate speech, misinformation, and CSAM. We're a small team with big ambitions. Marketing sits at the heart of how we grow, and we're looking for an ambitious graduate to help us level up the function. If that sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
The role involves joining a small, but growing, marketing team (Head of Marketing and Growth Marketing Lead) in a generalist role - contributing across the full marketing mix. This includes:
- Crafting content, campaign execution, automation, managing paid channels, and reporting.
We're looking for someone with a strong instinct for communication and storytelling - but who's genuinely curious about the technical and data-driven side of marketing too. You don't need to have done everything before, but you should be the type of person who wants to learn and is happy working autonomously to figure things out. This is a role with real breadth and real ownership from day one.
Responsibilities include:
- Content and communications - writing blog posts, thought leadership, newsletters, social copy, and sales enablement materials; helping shape how Checkstep sounds and what it says.
- Campaign support - assisting with paid campaigns across LinkedIn and Google, coordinating campaign assets, and helping manage timelines.
- Marketing operations - supporting automation build in HubSpot and Lemlist, maintaining CRM data quality, and assisting with segmentation and reporting.
- Website and collateral - updating landing pages and web copy, producing one-pagers and other marketing materials.
- Events and webinars - coordinating logistics and content for virtual and in-person events.
- Performance tracking - pulling together regular reports on content and channel performance, flagging what's working and what isn't.
About you:
- Recently graduated - perhaps with an English, Communications, Marketing or Psychology degree or a related field - but background matters less than ability.
- Strong written communication skills - clear, confident, and capable of adapting your voice to the audience and channel.
- Organised, curious, and self-starting; you don't wait to be told what to do next.
- Comfortable picking up new tools and not put off by data or technical workflows.
- Some marketing exposure is a plus (internship, placement, side projects) but not essential.
- Interest in automation, revenue operations, CRM systems or data-driven marketing.
- Analytical mindset with curiosity to test, measure and iterate.
- Ability to learn quickly and take initiative when solving problems.
- Interest in AI, trust & safety, content moderation or platform integrity is a bonus.
What we offer:
- Equity options.
- Remote work flexibility in the US, Europe and hybrid work in London.
- Pension scheme in the country of employment.
- Annual learning and development stipend.
- Home‑office budget to support your remote setup.
- Opportunity to explore all areas of marketing at a fast‑growing company.
- Direct impact on how the internet becomes safer and more trustworthy.
Checkstep is a globally distributed company with headquarters in London, UK, and a subsidiary in Porto, Portugal. While we would prefer this role to be London‑based, we are open to considering a remote candidate if they are a strong fit. A key requirement for this position, whether London-based or remote, is the ability to overlap with GMT or CET working hours for a minimum of four hours daily. Occasional travel will be necessary for team summits, customer meetings, and industry events.
At Checkstep, we’re solving some of the toughest problems in content moderation and online safety, and we’re just getting started. We operate with integrity, transparency, innovation, neutrality, and ambition at our core. If you’re excited about working at the intersection of AI, policy, and platform trust, we’d love to hear from you.
