The Role

Checkout. com is looking for an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer specialising in Workday Prism Analytics and Workday Accounting Center to join the team responsible for building and scaling our Financial infrastructure.

This is a technical and analytical role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data and financial systems.

You will own the day-to-day reliability of existing Accounting Center use cases while architecting solutions for changes in upstream product platforms.

In this role, you will partner closely with our Finance, Product and Engineering teams to build and maintain robust, audit-ready data pipelines.

  • How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Architect, build, and maintain high-volume data pipelines in Workday Prism Analytics, ingesting raw operational and transactional data from upstream product platforms.
  • Configure and manage Workday Accounting Center on a daily basis; from data ingestion to batch troubleshooting to successfully posting journals in the general ledger.
  • Partner with technical accountants and business controllers to translate complex accounting policies and transaction flows into configurable, well-documented rules within Workday Accounting Center.
  • Leverage Workday Prism and reporting tools to build powerful dashboards, custom matrix reports, and Discovery Boards that provide business insights and support regulatory reporting.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Prism Analytics and/or Workday Accounting Center within a complex, high-transaction global enterprise environment.
  • Good understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, such as debits/credits, general ledger structure, subledger accounting, multi-currency reporting, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Experience with Workday integration technologies (EIBs, Studio, Raa S) to facilitate data ingestion into Prism and our wider financial ecosystem.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a deep interest in identifying data anomalies, reconciling complex transaction flows, and optimising system performance.
  • Strong awareness of internal controls and IT general controls (ITGC) regarding financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical developers and non-technical business accountants.
  • Experience with Workday Implementations and Cutover Life cycles is a plus.
  • SQL proficiency is a plus.
  • Additional Information
  • Bring all of you to work

We create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one.

Here, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver.

It’s a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands.

We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you’re ready to grow and make a difference, you’ll be right at home here.

So let us know in your application, or tell your recruiter directly, if you need anything to make your experience or working environment more comfortable.

How to prepare for a job interview at Checkout

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Checkout uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
