We’re seeking a Product Manager to join the Payment Performance team and drive the future of our acceptance optimisation and fraud detection platform. This role will support the foundations of the long-term vision and strategy for the product area. Our ambition is to change the world of payments and the team sits at the heart of achieving our high-reaching vision and goals.
Our team launched Intelligent Acceptance – Checkout.com’s solution for high payment acceptance saving merchants over $10B in revenue to date, as well as Fraud Detection Pro – our solution to combat buyer fraud and stop illegitimate payments. We enable our merchants to focus on what they do best by driving their performance to the highest standards, and enable great payment experiences for their consumers.
The Payment Performance Platform is the core of our products and value proposition, as it enables our data scientists and payment experts to discover and deploy advanced logics and in-house machine learning models. Connected to almost all of Checkout.com’s payment flow services, the Payment Performance Platform is what drives innovative ideas into live features impacting millions of customers - all within milliseconds.
As a Product Manager, you will contribute to and drive the execution of the product strategy, enabling scale and impact by displaying cross-functional ownership between product, engineering and business teams, to bring value to internal and external stakeholders. Our team collaborates closely with them to understand their pain points, drive prioritisation for product development and unlock new performance capabilities.
You will work on building and developing the capabilities of the performance platform powering all features of the Payment Performance domain – from Fraud ML models to live Acceptance Rate optimisations – and enable our experts to rapidly ship and scale cutting-edge features across multiple products. You will ensure a tight loop between infrastructure, experimentation, and merchant value delivery.
Our team is responsible for Checkout.com’s payment performance excellence and performance driving products. We build proprietary technology and outstanding solutions that operate at scale with high resilience, dealing with billions of data points. We are a strong, globally distributed team of 60+ people. With billions of dollars flowing through our solutions and a unique focus on performance excellence, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the core systems powering Checkout.com’s next generation of acceptance and fraud optimisation products — combining data science, payments expertise, and ML into one high-impact platform.
How you’ll make an impact
- Create leverage across the organisation by enabling other teams to build faster, more efficiently, reliably, and consistently.
- Translate the external product vision into an internal platform strategy — building scalable capabilities that power our core optimisation products.
- Collaborate closely with Data Science, ML, Engineering, and Subject Matter Experts to drive prioritisation for development and unlock impactful capabilities for our core products and services.
- Maintain and align product roadmaps across teams to deliver coherent, high-impact solutions across Checkout.com.
- Develop a deep understanding of the needs of internal teams and other product teams consuming our capabilities, and translate them into coherent functionalities that can be implemented for our innovative and groundbreaking products.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess impact, identify and mitigate risks early – supporting engineering, data science, research, and design partners to deliver successful projects.
What we’re looking for
- 2–4 years of experience in Product Management, ideally in complex technical domains, with exposure to full product lifecycles from discovery to delivery.
- Proven experience building developer-facing products, foundational services, backend systems, or APIs used by other product teams.
- Experience with experimentation or data platforms is a plus.
- Some expertise in payments and data science is welcome.
- You think from the customer perspective and are able to balance future opportunities with immediate needs.
- Data-driven, you clearly define success metrics and measure progress against them.
