Checkout.com is seeking a talented Senior Specialist to join the adventure and support the business’s growing Issuing Operations team based in London. As a Senior Specialist, you will be the primary engine behind our client launches. You will work closely with clients to define their requirements while coordinating with internal stakeholders to bring card programs to life. You will manage the end‑to‑end onboarding journey from pre‑sales scoping to technical implementation and the final handover to business‑as‑usual teams.
Responsibilities
- End-to‑End Implementation: Manage day‑to‑day onboarding activities for new Issuing clients, ensuring all technical and operational milestones are met.
- External Project Contribution: Act as an operational stakeholder on projects with Card Schemes (Visa/Mastercard) and third‑party suppliers (Bureaus, Wallets). Represent Checkout.com in external workstreams to ensure our technical setup aligns with scheme mandates and partner capabilities.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the central hub between Sales, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Engineering to ensure a seamless flow of information.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as a point of contact for customers during the implementation phase, translating complex requirements into actionable project plans.
- Process Refinement: Identify bottlenecks in the onboarding journey and build enhanced workflows to improve delivery speed and efficiency.
- Operational Readiness: Ensure all internal teams (Operations and Support) are fully briefed and prepared for the client 'go‑live.'
- Operational Rigor: Manage the essential background administration and detailed tasks from documentation and system configuration to data entry, ensuring every project is built on a solid, compliant foundation.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in payments, with a focus on project delivery, product delivery, scheme management, technical onboarding, or issuing operations.
- Scheme & Supplier Knowledge: Proven track record of contributing to projects involving card schemes or third‑party fintech suppliers. Understand the nuances of scheme rules and the requirements for digital wallet integration.
- Delivery Focused: Proven track record of managing customer‑facing projects and navigating internal and external dependencies to meet deadlines.
- Problem Solver: Approach challenges with a qualitative mindset, looking for the most efficient solution rather than the easiest one.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and written skills; explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and external partners clearly.
- High‑Volume Execution: Exceptional ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously; thrive in a fast‑paced environment where rapid context‑switching is the norm.
- Process Discipline: Comfortable owning the administrative 'grunt work' required to ensure a project is technically sound and ready for launch.
