We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day. We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

Design at Checkout brings together 30+ people across Product Design, UX Research, Content Design, Content Strategy and Technical Writing to create clear, intuitive experiences across our products. The Content Design team is centralised and embedded in product domains, working across a wide range of projects.

We’re looking for a Senior Content Designer to lead content design for a new and developing domain at Checkout. You’ll bring clarity to an opportunity as it takes shape, helping create experiences that are clear, useful and connected to the wider product ecosystem. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, researchers and engineers, and collaborate across Technical Writing, Creative Brand, Support, Legal and other teams. The role may also contribute to other product areas as priorities evolve.

What you’ll do:

  • Bring content design into early product thinking, helping teams clarify problems, concepts and priorities.
  • Design and refine end-to-end journeys, using research, insight and testing to improve comprehension and usability.
  • Create practical guidance, terminology and reusable patterns that help teams deliver consistently as the product evolves.
  • Explain decisions clearly, build alignment across functions and contribute to ways of working across the Design organisation.

What success looks like:

  • Content foundations are clear, adopted and used consistently across the domain.
  • Key journeys are easier to understand and use, with stronger comprehension and usability.
  • Content design has a visible influence on product decisions and ways of working across the domain, with useful contributions to the wider Design organisation.

What you'll bring:

  • Hands-on experience in content design or UX writing for digital products, including ownership of end-to-end product journeys.
  • Experience defining reusable UX content patterns and systems, not only writing individual screens.
  • Ability to simplify complex or regulated topics in plain language, without relying on jargon.
  • Experience bringing clarity to ambiguous or early-stage product problems and helping teams move from ideas to usable experiences.
  • Evidence of using research, insight, analytics or testing to inform, validate and improve product decisions.
  • Clear communication, sound product and content judgement, and hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams using tools such as Figma and other evolving product workflows.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in payments, fintech or complex B2B SaaS environments.
  • Experience building content foundations or ways of working for a new or developing product area.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools in product design or content workflows, with the judgement to evaluate and improve their outputs.

Here, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It’s a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands. We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you’re ready to grow and make a difference, you’ll be right at home here.
