Job Description

Investing in our technology, platforms and tooling is key to ensure Checkout.com scales into the future. To future proof our products we must ensure we build scalable enterprise solutions for our Technology, IT and Finance teams.

As Solutions Architect at Checkout.com you’ll be responsible for developing and supporting our Enterprise IT Finance Architecture.

This would cover our key enterprise 3rd party platforms supporting all areas of our internal Finance teams, alongside leading integration between these external platforms and Checkout.com’s internal tooling.

The Solutions Architect would operate across the application domain, working with stakeholders from Finance, IT and our internal product/engineering teams.

This opportunity will play a driving role in determining the technical architecture and functional design needed to support and meet company business goals.

Remit and Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and implementing solutions to finance problems using existing or new technologies.
  2. Overseeing and consulting across areas including planning, migration and implementation.
  3. Defining architectural principles and standards for Checkout.com’s enterprise users.
  4. Simplifying complex concepts by using the right level of technical terminology for the audience and anticipating the level of readiness of the audience to comprehend new technical information.
  5. Working closely with Finance and IT across platforms to ensure scalability and planning is achieved for the future.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the role will bring:

  1. A strong understanding of how Accounting processes should work to ensure they are efficient and controlled. Qualified accounts are highly preferred.
  2. A strong knowledge of Finance systems; specifically, must have led implementations of Finance ERP systems. Experience with Workday Financials is highly preferred.
  3. Experience working with and analysing large data sets. SQL experience is preferred. Workday Accounting Center and Prism experience is highly preferred.
  4. Prior experience with Workday Adaptive, Workday HCM, Coupa and Dell Boomi will be beneficial.
  5. Experience with controllership, purchase to pay, budgeting and forecasting, HR Information Systems, middleware and tax is strongly preferred.
  6. Understanding of broader best-practice Finance processes.
  7. Track record leading complex Finance Transformation projects/programmes; including implementing systems and improving processes through systematic re-engineering.
  8. Strong understanding of ITGCs, including how to set these up in the systems listed previously and ability to provide evidence of their effectiveness.
  9. Expertise in educating stakeholders regarding Finance-related processes and how they impact broader business goals – this person will need to play a ‘translator’-style role where they can relate low-level technical decision-making to wider business impact and vice versa.
  10. Strong understanding of systems and integration approaches.
  11. Excellent at communicating to senior stakeholders and team members to identify issues and propose solutions.
  12. Ability to identify problems, define the root cause, determine the solution and propose the solution.
  13. Proficiency in translating technical expertise into solutions and process guidance to implement improvements or address user issues.
  14. Ability to map processes, outlining risks and controls.
  15. Depth of experience in data analysis, data processing and reporting.
