Following a record-breaking 2024 in which we saw 40% net revenue growth and continued to expand our global footprint, we are currently looking to make a crucial addition to our CEO Office, directly supporting our Founder-CEO, Guillaume Pousaz. This role will have broad strategic impact, driving execution and fostering greater collaboration across multiple functions within the organization. Under the Chief of CEO Office, the incoming Strategy hire will operate across multiple areas; helping to maximise throughput and improve decision-making and delivery across internal and external topics such as org design and efficiency, product launches, geo expansion, corporate strategy, M&A activity, automation, and business planning.

Role overview | Remit and Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a driven, hungry and talented individual who will be comfortable balancing strategic thinking, research and decision-making with hands-on delivery and operational rigour.
  • The incoming Strategy hire will need to collaborate with a wide range of teams across the organisation to drive maximum impact in alignment with the CEO Office's priorities.
  • They will be seen as a key driver in ‘big-rock’ projects, able to translate complex and evolving business needs into actionable plans, enabling us to prioritise and deliver effectively on critical initiatives.
  • Being results-oriented, energetic and able to thrive in fast-paced environments will be critical to success.
  • Whether in-house or from consulting backgrounds, this person will be comfortable adding value across a variety of functional areas, with a delivery-focused mindset and experience managing complex projects.

Amongst other duties, the incoming Strategy, CEO Office will be responsible for:

  • Driving key strategic initiatives and projects for the CEO Office, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to translate complex business needs into actionable plans and driving execution.
  • Supporting the optimization of internal processes and decision-making across various topics, including product launches, geo expansion, and corporate strategy.
  • Aligning roadmaps and delivery between the Founder-CEO and other teams/leaders.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of Checkout.com’s people and organisational needs.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve and automate products, processes, and services critical to Checkout.com’s execution.
  • Being a strong advocate and standard-bearer for Checkout.com’s values and operating principles.

The Ideal Candidate For The Role Will Bring

  • Relevant experience in strategy, operations, or management consulting, preferably within high-growth technology environments.
  • Empathy for, and an appetite to get to grips with, the complexities and nuances of the payments ecosystem (if not having worked in the space already), as this person is expected to become a true subject matter expert.
  • Proven track record of driving complex strategic projects and initiatives, demonstrating tangible results and impact.
  • Experience working closely with C-level executives, providing strategic counsel and support in decision-making processes.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, able to synthesize complex information and insights to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and processes, with a focus on optimisation and efficiency improvements.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent time-management, able to operate with responsiveness, commitment and dedication; recognising that the demands of the role are likely to exceed “the usual 95”.
