Checkout.com is hiring a Staff Product Manager to build and scale our in‑person payment capabilities and deliver a seamless omnichannel experience. This is a 0‑to‑1 opportunity where you will define the strategy, own the roadmap, and deliver and scale the product with engineering and cross‑functional teams. You will be outcome focused, turning customer and stakeholder insight into clear metrics, priorities and experiments, and you will partner with engineering, product, risk, legal, compliance, operations, and commercial to ensure the product is technically robust, operationally scalable and ready for expansion across markets.
Hybrid Working Model
All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally. During your days at the office, we offer amazing snacks, breakfast, and lunch options in all of our locations.
About you
- 7+ years of product management experience with a track record of owning complex payments products end to end.
- Deep familiarity with in‑person or card‑present payments and how they interact with digital channels in an omnichannel context.
- Experience operating across multiple countries is a plus.
- A 0‑to‑1 builder who is comfortable with ambiguity and a strong executor who ships value incrementally.
- Data‑driven and outcome‑oriented. You define clear metrics, instrument journeys and use insights to shape priorities.
- End‑to‑end mindset with strong product judgement and a bias for simple, scalable solutions.
- Trusted cross‑functional partner to engineering, design, risk, compliance, operations, finance and commercial teams.
- Clear communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and simplify complex topics for different audiences.
- Experience coaching other PMs and contributing to product ways of working is a plus.
Key responsibilities
- Define and socialise the product strategy for in‑person payments that complements our digital stack and enables an end‑to‑end omnichannel experience.
- Translate strategy into a clear roadmap with well‑framed problem statements, customer outcomes, milestones and success metrics.
- Lead customer, partner and market discovery across regions to validate needs and inform scope, phasing and launch approach.
- Partner with engineering to shape solution design and delivery plans.
- Ensure performance, reliability and security meet enterprise expectations.
- Work with risk, compliance, finance, legal, operations and support to design for safety, operational readiness and cost effectiveness from day one.
- Drive launch readiness and adoption with commercial and marketing, including positioning, packaging, pricing inputs and sales enablement.
- Establish the measurement framework. Track performance, learn fast and iterate.
- Communicate progress and decisions to senior stakeholders with clarity.
- Raise the bar on product craft. Coach PMs where appropriate and improve ways of working across the team.
