Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Specialist to support the growing Issuing Operations team based in London. As a Senior Specialist, you will be the primary engine behind client launches, working closely with clients to define requirements and coordinating with internal stakeholders to bring card programs to life. You will manage the end‑to‑end onboarding journey from pre‑sales scoping to technical implementation and final handover to business‑as‑usual teams.

Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end implementation: manage day‑to‑day onboarding activities for new issuing clients, ensuring technical and operational milestones are met.
  • External project contribution: act as operational stakeholder on projects with Card Schemes (Visa/Mastercard) and third‑party suppliers (Bureaus, Wallets), representing Checkout.com in external workstreams.
  • Stakeholder coordination: serve as central hub between Sales, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Engineering for seamless information flow.
  • Client relationship management: point of contact during implementation, translating complex requirements into actionable project plans.
  • Process refinement: identify bottlenecks in onboarding journey and build enhanced workflows.
  • Operational readiness: ensure Operations and Support teams are briefed and prepared for client go‑live.
  • Operational rigor: manage background administration and detailed tasks from documentation to system configuration and data entry.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in payments, focusing on project delivery, product delivery, scheme management, technical onboarding, or issuing operations.
  • Proven track record contributing to projects involving card schemes or third‑party fintech suppliers, with knowledge of scheme rules and digital wallet integration.
  • Strong delivery focus: proven management of customer‑facing projects and ability to navigate internal and external dependencies.
  • Problem‑solving mindset, seeking efficient solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
