Job Description
Global payments are complex and ever-evolving. At Checkout our software engineers develop the next-generation payments technologies that enable our Merchants to boost their acceptance rates, cut processing costs, fight fraud, and create cutting edge technology that enables extraordinary customer experiences.
We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company’s strategic goals. You’ll get to work with teams from across Checkout.com’s portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer embedded within a multifunctional team, you will collaborate with Product and Design counterparts to lead the UI implementation of Checkout.com products and services, ensuring our merchants enjoy an optimal experience across all frontend touchpoints. We seek engineers who are versatile, demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full stack as we push technology forward. With your technical expertise, you will lead project priorities, manage deadlines, and ensure high-quality deliverables. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Comprehensive skills in React and TypeScript: Capable of architecting complex applications, driving best practices, and mentoring others.
- Extensive experience in software development, design, and architecture, with a strong focus on security.
- Experience collaborating on software projects with both design and backend teams.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows.
- Cloud-based application development experience.
- Strong customer focus; building accessible applications with a great UX.
- Experience leading tech initiatives, guiding your team and delivering.
- Experience building reliable, accessible and well-tested systems.
- Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Some experience with C# is nice to have.
- Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and performance issues in web applications and knowing how to debug them.
- Experience with asynchronous, event-driven architecture.
- Database experience with NoSQL, ElasticSearch or similar tool.

Hybrid Working Model: All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally.
