As a People Data Analyst, you will be a key member of our People Analytics team. Our mission is to enable Checkout to make data-driven people decisions. You will act as the “engine” of the team, owning the development and maintenance of data products, such as dashboards and datasets, while supporting the People team and business stakeholders in drawing insights from data.
You will be a key partner to the People team, handling complex reporting requests while building the tools that empower them to self-serve their simpler data needs. This is an ideal position for a business-savvy and detail-oriented analyst who loves to build, investigate, and deliver results. You will have plenty of room to grow within our People Analytics function, with opportunities to expand from dashboarding into full product development, advanced analytics, and strategic consultative work.
Job Responsibilities- Building and maintaining data products: You will own the development and maintenance of scalable data products, such as Looker dashboards, datasets, and reports, to solve our data needs.
- Extracting & analysing People data: You will support the People team and stakeholders in extracting and analysing data across the full employee lifecycle (e.g., recruitment, performance, engagement), applying your expertise to help them draw valuable insights.
- Driving a data-driven culture: As an enabler, you will foster an effective data mindset and drive positive behaviours regarding People data through training and support.
- Ensuring data quality: You will think critically about the accuracy and clarity of people’s data, helping us build and maintain a reliable single source of truth.
- Advancing the value of People Analytics: You will help us go beyond descriptive analytics, utilizing advanced technologies and methods to inform, measure, and deliver our people strategy.
- Own the Product Lifecycle: Expand beyond just “building” dashboards to own the full product development cycle, from gathering requirements and design to managing communications and enablement.
- Conduct Diagnostic & Prescriptive Analyses: Go beyond what happened to understand why. Conduct deep-dive analyses into our most complex challenges.
- Become an Internal People Analytics Consultant: Act as a strategic partner, working directly with teams to investigate questions and solve business problems using data.
- Leverage Advanced Analytical Methods: Get hands‑on experience testing and applying advanced methods, including statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI.
- Experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and transforming complex datasets.
- Proficiency with a data visualisation tool (preference for Looker).
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories for non‑technical stakeholders.
- An enablement‑focused and collaborative mindset, with a passion for not just answering questions but teaching others how to find answers themselves.
- A proactive, curious attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Hands‑on experience with Google BigQuery, dbt, or similar data warehouse/transformation tools.
- Previous experience working with HR/People data.
