Checkout.com is actively looking for an enthusiastic and talented Strategic Accounts, Business Developer to join us as we accelerate our Enterprise development of Global Accounts from our offices in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a fundamental role in our rapid growth as we revolutionise merchant experience and continue to set ourselves apart from the rest when managing our largest and most strategic accounts worldwide.

This role will be part of our Strategic Accounts team and sits within our Commercial department. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with teams across Sales, Enablement, Product, Marketing, Solutions Engineering and more.
The ideal candidate approaches enterprise business development and intelligence in an analytical manner, is data-driven, and is a creative problem-solver.
What You Will Do- Develop and own the strategic account plans and end-to-end deal progression strategy for a portfolio of key prospects in collaboration with Enterprise Sales Representatives.
- Serve as the internal Methodology expert and trusted advisor on the key strategic accounts, including their industry, market trends, and critical business challenges.
- Conduct in-depth market and account analysis (organizational structure, strategic priorities, competitive landscape) to generate actionable insights that accelerate sales cycles and inform business strategy.
- Proactively leverage AI-driven systems (e.g., Salesforce, 6Sense, proprietary tools) and advanced analytics to optimize lead generation, strategic planning, and pipeline accuracy.
- Work closely with Sales in nurturing, developing, and deepening relationships with existing and prospective merchants.
- Influence cross-functional teams of stakeholders (including Product, Solutions Engineering, and Legal) to ensure an aligned team effort when dealing and onboarding with key merchants.
- Assist senior leadership in shaping tailored solutions and product offerings for each merchant.
- Collaborate daily with our engagement team to ensure a strong understanding and alignment across the entire sales cycle.
- Relevant experience in Enterprise Sales Development, Strategic Account Management, or Consultative B2B Sales, preferably in payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
- Proven ability to build and sustain deep, multi-threaded relationships with multiple stakeholders up to the C-suite level within a large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data/CRM (e.g., Salesforce) for account mapping, opportunity identification, and accurate forecasting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial/technical value propositions to senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised and able to prioritise shifting workloads and responsibilities effectively.
- Eager to understand and navigate long sales cycles.
- Commercially minded and possesses a deep understanding of issues large accounts are facing.
- AI savvy user of enterprise tools and technologies.
- Fluent in English (other languages are a plus).
